Every way to video chat on WHO App Live
One camera, one person, one conversation at a time. WHO offers that in a few different ways, and each one has its own guide. Find the line that fits what you want tonight, then press start.
One map, every way in

What every call on WHO has in common
Whichever line you take, the ground rules stay the same. These are the parts you can count on in every conversation.
Two people, no audience
Each call connects you with one person. Nobody else joins, nobody watches, and nobody turns the chat into a stream. How that plays out in practice is covered in our 1v1 video call guide.
Camera first
A call opens only after your browser or phone has turned the camera on. Give it the microphone as well, so your hello actually reaches the other side.
Next, Block and Report
Next moves you on without a reason. Block closes the call on the spot and keeps that person out of your future matches. Report closes it as well, and the moderation team then reviews the session.
Nothing kept
WHO does not record video calls. When a conversation ends, nothing from it stays behind on WHO's side. Why that matters, and how to tell a real person from a recording, is in our Live video chat guide.
Adults, with moderation
You confirm your age before your first call. Automated filters run on every call, the moderation team reviews each report, and harassment, abuse or being under age ends an account for good.
The words you will see on screen
A handful of terms come up in every guide on this page. Here is what each one means on WHO.
- Match
- The person WHO connects you with when you press start. Without a filter, it is simply whoever is available next.
- Next
- Ends the current call and brings in someone new. You owe no explanation, and the other person can tap it just as freely.
- Language or region filter
- Narrows where WHO looks before you press start. The pick inside that pool stays random, so a filter shapes the crowd rather than choosing a person.
- Gender filter
- An optional paid extra that sets a preference for who you meet. Filtering on WHO is limited, so treat it as a preference rather than a promise. What it can and cannot do is set out in the Video call with females guide.
- Coins
- The currency WHO uses for optional extras such as the gender filter. Registering adds a free balance; talking to someone never needs any. Where the free part ends and paid extras begin is explained on the Free video call page.
- Camera permission
- The prompt from your browser asking to use your camera. The call waits until you allow it, and you can change the choice later in your browser settings.
- Account
- Not needed to start talking. Signing in only matters for one thing: browsing who is online before you call.
Questions before your first call
Where should I start if I have never used WHO?
With a random match and no filter. It costs nothing, needs no account, and shows you how a call feels before you decide whether any extra is worth paying for.
Can I choose who I talk to?
Not a specific person. You can set a language or region before you start, and a gender preference as a paid extra; inside that, the match is random. Block is the one choice that lasts, since a blocked person does not come back as a match.
Do I need to install anything for online video chat?
No. WHO runs in a current browser on a phone or a laptop. Android users can also use the WHO app from Google Play, and on an iPhone you open WHO in Safari and can add it to your home screen.
Is anything from a call kept?
No. Video calls on WHO are not recorded, and once a chat ends there is nothing left of it on WHO's side. During the call your match can see your camera and hear your voice, so keep anything private out of the frame.
Pick a line, or simply press start
Every guide on this page ends at the same button. If you are not sure which line suits you, start with a random match and find out in the first minute.
